The scripture for today comes from the book of Psalms:
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
“This is the day the Lord has made.” Amen to that.
You know before I get out of bed every morning I pray. One of the first things I thank the Lord for is for this day. Even though my heart is telling me I want to be with Kelsey in Heaven, my mind knows I am still needed her on earth. So I thank the Lord for at least one more day here.
“Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Trust me, there are days that I am NOT glad in it. Although I am getting better at it. I try harder and harder to not let Satan bring me down. You see, that is what he wants. I work really hard at leaning on the Lord and trusting him with all my being.
Like Sarah Young states in her book “Jesus Calling”, Jesus wants us to follow Him. He already has our days planned out. Some days may be difficult and we think we can’t do it, but if we call out to Him, he will be there to guide us through it.
The last 7 years of my life have been challenging to say the least. I could never have predicted any of what has happened. There has been a lot of hills and forks in the road for us. But we continue to push forward with Jesus leading us. And us leaning and trusting Him.
Let’s just think for a moment. If you didn’t believe there was a Heaven and that God sent his only son, Jesus, to earth to die on the cross for OUR sins so we could have eternal life, what hope of seeing a loved one that has passed away, do you have? Who do you lean on and trust in to help you through it? Because let me tell you, it isn’t easy. It isn’t easy losing a child. Trust me when I say;
I need the Lord in my life every day in order to get through the day.
I need the Lord every day to make me get out of bed.
I need the Lord every day to whisper in my ear that He is with me.
I need the Lord every day to carry me when I can not walk.
I need the Lord every day to give me hope that one day I will be with my Kelsey.
I need the Lord every day to wipe my tears.
I need the Lord every day to show me the way.
I need the Lord every day to guide me in following in his steps.
I NEED THE LORD EVERY DAY TO LIVE.
YOU need the Lord!!!
1 Peter 2:21
“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.”
Remember, you have to be willing to follow wherever He leads you. No matter how steep or treacherous it may be for you, you have to trust Him and know the safest place is with Him. When I find myself drifting throughout the day, I simply say to myself, “Jesus”. I just call his name and this peace comes over me. Try it. I promise it will work.
In closing, really listen to what I am saying. Jesus is the only way through this life on earth. He is the one person that will get you through it. I have said it a million times and I will say it a million more if I can get you to give your life to Him, Trust in Him, Believe in Him, Walk with Him, and have that relationship with Him.
If you don’t pray I ask you to just say this prayer today;
“Lord, I love you, and I accept you as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart. Walk with me and guide me through the plans you have for me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen…….”
My prayer to each and every one of you as always is that you ask the Lord to come into your heart. That you have the relationship with him that I have. That we all meet in Heaven one day.”
