I thought I would write about how lucky I am. Maybe “Luck” isn’t the right word. Maybe “Blessed” is a better world. You may think, a mother who has lost two children, how do you consider yourself lucky/blessed.
Well, I’m going to tell you…….
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward, 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children[a] of one's youth.”
Children truly are a blessing from the Lord. They didn’t think I was going to have any children BUT the Lord blessed me with TWINS. What memories I have of them growing up. I have thousands of pictures and videos from the moment they were born. Stories I will be able to tell Courtney’s children. I was able to be the one thing in life I always wanted to be. A MOM.
Now I may have lost our Kelsey and Annie, but you know what? Look at all the years I was able to have with them. No One can take that away from me. Best of all I STILL have my Courtney. What a blessing, what a REWARD.
So you see, I am LUCKY/BLESSED. God has blessed me so much.
Courtney told me after Kelsey passed that Kel’s favorite song when she was small was “Jesus Loves The Little Children”. Oh how He does. You know, we are ALL his children. “Red or Yellow, Black or White”, we are ALL HIS CHILDREN.
“We Are Precious In His Site. Jesus Loves The Little Children Of The World.” With everything that has happened in this world, I pray that everyone could just STOP. for just one minute and sing this song. Maybe there would be more love in this world than hate. That’s my prayer…..
I mentioned that the one thing in life that I wanted to be was a Mom. This is true, but I couldn’t be a mom without a husband. I, once again, am so Lucky/BLESSED to have the BEST husband in the world. God blessed me once again.
I truly do NOT know what I would be without my Ronnie. Wait, yes I do. I would be nothing. You all have heard the saying “Made for each other”. I KNOW, Ronnie and I were made for each other.
So who is blessed….
“2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.””
These verses give me hope and inspire me. They tell me that I am blessed. Look at verse 4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”
Now I know everyone loses a love one at some time in their life. But this verse really speaks to me because of the many loses I have been through the last six years. Especially the last year. But I have been blessed by Him. He has stood by me and has watched over me. He is my Strength.
So you see everyone, even though I have had tremendous loss and disappointment in my life, I am blessed. I am Lucky. I have my Courtney, my Ronnie, my Daddy, my Family, and my Friends. But most of all I have ETERNAL life with my Lord.
He can be your Lord also. I pray that if you do not know Him, that you get to know Him. Maybe this blog will inspire you to read the Bible or do some research on the internet. I pray that you have that relationship with Him that I have. I pray that I see each and everyone of you in Heaven some day. HOME!!!!
